Summer Housing Programs
acceleRATE Summer Program
Progress towards your degree more affordably. Residents currently living on campus during the 2026 Spring Quarter will be eligible.
Traditional Summer Program
Non-residents (students not currently housed on campus), incoming freshmen, and incoming transfer students enrolled in the summer will be eligible.
Summer Success Program
For Summer 2026, students participating in Summer Bridge, Summer Engineering Institute (SEI), SPLASH and SPIS will be eligible for on campus housing.
Short-Term Transition Housing
This summer program is available to single students, including recently graduated undergraduates, incoming and continuing undergraduate students, and international Extension students who need temporary housing prior to the start of Fall Quarter 2026. Limited exceptions apply.
UC San Diego Housing will remain open and operational for summer session. Students selecting to live on-campus for summer will be assigned to available space consisting of double and limited single bedrooms. Application for Summer Housing will launch on April 13, 2026.
If you are a Fall 2026 incoming first year or incoming transfer student, we ask that you wait to submit a summer housing application and contract until you have a secured your campus AD account (after you've accepted your campus Admission and followed your checklist items).
Extended Housing
Extended Housing Process & Cost information below for those only participating in Summer Session 10 Week or 2nd 5 Week program with a 2026-27 academic year housing contract.
Duration of Program: September 6th, 2026 - September 15, 2026 (billed 9/6/26 - 9/15/26)
Deadline to Add: TBD
Deadline to Drop: Sunday, August 23rd, 2026 @ 11:59PM
Program Eligibility
- Resident must be a regularly enrolled, full-time registered undergraduate student of the University as defined by the Registrar's Office, for the term of the 2026-27 academic year.
- Resident must hold a UC San Diego Single Undergraduate Residential Contract for the 2026-27 academic year and hold a Summer Housing contract through September 6th.
- If at any point the 2026-27 academic year contract is cancelled, they are no longer eligible or able to participate in the Extended Summer Housing Program.
Program Terms
- Resident will be required to move into their fall contracted space on Wednesday, September 9th.
- Students must move out of their current summer residence and be checked in to their regular academic space between 8:00am and 4:00pm on Wednesday, September 9th. To ensure a smooth transition each student will only be able to select a fall move in time during this time frame.
- Students who are not physically here on campus on Wednesday, September 9th cannot contract for the extended housing period. There will be no exceptions.
Program Cost Breakdown
ALL participants in the Extended Housing Program are financially responsible. Extended Summer Housing begins 9/6/2026 through 9/16/2025 (Billed 9/6/25 - 9/15/26). The rates below will be applied to your account based on your current summer housing program and your fall housing space.
TOTAL EXTENDED HOUSING COST= Part 1 Billing (Summer Housing Program & Room Type) + Part 2 Billing (Academic Year Space Type) + Part 3 Billing (No Charge General Move In Days)

Cancellation Policy
- Cancellation of Extended Housing must be submitted by - date coming soon!.
- Failure to cancel Extended Housing by Sunday, August 23rd, 2026 will result in resident being financially liable for the entire term of this addendum unless officially released by the University in writing.
